The lion that escaped from Kano Zoological Garden has reportedly returned to its cage.
Managing Director of the Zoo, Usman Gwadabe said the Lion voluntarily returned to its cage on Monday morning after efforts to capture it failed.
The News Agency on Sunday reported that the lion escaped from its cage on Saturday night when rangers were trying to cage the animal after they returned it from the National Agricultural show in Nasarawa.
Alhaji Gwadabe told newsmen that “the lion has been sedated but we are still waiting for a reinforcement of a stronger sedative to have a full control of the animal.”
“The professionals with the support of armed security personnel were able to sedate the lion which has not been very effective. So we have sent for reinforcement.”
