Brexit deal has been agreed between Britian and the European Union negotiating teams before a meeting of European leaders in Brussels, says Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
We’ve got a great new deal that takes back control — now Parliament should get Brexit done on Saturday so we can move on to other priorities like the cost of living, the NHS, violent crime and our environment #GetBrexitDone #TakeBackControl, Boris shared on Thursday.
The president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, also disclosed the new deal on Twitter saying:
“Where there is a will, there is a deal – we have one! It’s a fair and balanced agreement for the EU and the UK and it is testament to our commitment to find solutions. I recommend that EUCO endorses this deal.”
CNN reports that the two sides have been working on the legal text of a deal, but it will still need the approval of both the UK and European parliaments.
Brexit refers to the UK leaving the EU which is an economic and political union involving 28 European countries and also allows free trade and free movement of people to live and work in whichever country they choose.
The UK joined in 1973 and If the UK leaves, it would be the first member state to withdraw from the EU.
