So Sad: Kidnapped Ondo Varsity Lecturer Found Dead


A lecturer with the Ondo State University of Science of Technology, OSUSTECH, Okitipupa, Prof. Gideon Okedayo, who was recently kidnapped, has been found dead.

News Agency had reported that Prof. Okedayo of the Department of Mathematical Sciences and Acting Dean of the School of Post Graduate Studies in OSUSTECH, was abducted on Sept. 5 at Akoko Junction on the Igara-Auch highway in Edo State.

The Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) OSUSTECH Chapter, Dr Dipo Akomolafe, who confirmed the incident to newsmen on Tuesday in Okitipupa said:

“His decomposing body was found in the bush. This is so sad to ASUU and his family members because the abductors never call anybody either ASUU or his family for ransom.”

The Edo State Police Command days ago confirmed recovering the late lecturer’s official car, a Toyota Corolla.
