The River State Police Command is currently investigating viral video of a man who allegedly killed another yet-to-be identified lady in Port Harcourt hotel room.
In the footage making rounds on social media, the alleged suspect and the lady checked in but the suspect was later captured alone leaving the premises of the hotel.
It was noted that the lady was later found tied up and strangled in the hotel room the next day with cloth.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command on Tuesday said that two suspects had been arrested in connection with the killings of young women in hotel rooms in the state.
The command also warned that hotels operating without closed-circuit television cameras, CCTV, will be shut at the expiration of a 30-day ultimatum.
Speaking about the killings, the state Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Dandaura, told newsmen in Port Harcourt that the command had reached an agreement with hotel owners and managers some weeks ago that they must install CCTV cameras on their premises.
Dandaura stated that eight young women had been murdered in the state by suspected ritual killers in the past two months.
According to reports and photos, the victims are usually found strangled, tied and gagged with white clothes around their necks and waists.
Also, on the apprehended suspects, the CP explained that while one was trailed to Kaduna State, the other was nabbed after a young woman reported to the police that a man was trying to lure her to a hotel with a promise to pay her N30,000.
