Ogun State Govt Proposes Death Penalty For Kidnappers


Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State
has disclosed that the state is considering sending a bill seeking to make kidnapping a capital punishment to the state’s House of Assembly.

Prince Abiodun made this known via his official social media handles on Minday saying:

As a peace-loving state, We are currently considering sending a bill proposing capital punishment for kidnapping, to the House of Assembly. I disclosed this today when I received on a Sallah homage visit, the Remo League of Imams.

He added:

“Our state is an industrial hub where numerous companies lawfully carry out their operations. It is sad that the recent actions of kidnappers in the state, especially if unchecked, may gravely affect the security of lives.
