President Muhammadu Buhari has donated two cows, bags of rice and N250,000 to members of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, who are serving in Daura, Katsina State for Sallah celebration.
Buhari and the visiting Guinean President, Prof. Alfa Conde hosted the NYSC members at his GRA residence in Daura, as part of activities to mark the 2019 Eid-el-Kabir, Daily Trust reports.
The presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu announced the donation of the items which includes, two cows from Mr President, 10 bags of rice, N250,000 and the Guinean President also donated two cows to the corps members.
President Buhari thanked the Corpers for the special visit, describing the scheme as the “merger of the country.”
“From Lagos, Port Harcourt and other parts of the country, you are at the end of the country.
“This will make you to know this place and disabuse the minds of those who are not educated about the other side of the country.
“It is only the NYSC that is merging us together and of course, the police and soldiers,” he added.
