Senator Elisha Abbo on Tuesday appeared before a Senate ad-hoc committee investigating his actions in a viral video where he was captured assaulting a woman in a s3x toy shop in Abuja.
Abbo whose case is still court clashed with Senator Tinubu who is also a member of the committee when he was asked to swear an oath before saying anything.
Abbo bluntly refused saying that the case was in court, “this matter is in court. I cannot be talking in front of cameras when the matter is already in court. That’s subjudice…”
But Senator Tinubu didn’t take that answer in the trending video shared by Channels TV, she said:
“Distinguished. You just joined us. We have a procedure and we are also under law. You don’t come in here and dictate to us what should be done.
“You are on the other side now. You don’t tell us what to do…because we can suspend you,” she added.
Abbo replied Madam Tinubu that he can’t be threatened, “I will not sit here and listen to you threaten me with suspension. I am a senator like you. You cannot threaten me with suspension.”
The embattled Senator was arraigned on Monday at the Zuba Magistrate Court, Abuja on one count of assault which he denied and was later granted bail of N5 million.
