Rap billionaire Jay-Z reportedly took a new role as the Chief Brand Strategist of Caliva, a California-based cannabis consumer product company.
The 49-year-old rapper and business man who is married to pop superstar Beyonce and named by Forbes magazine the first hip-hop artist to become a billionaire entered a long-term partnership with the weed company.
Caliva confirmed on Tuesday that Jay-Z will focus on outreach and the creative direction of the brand, adding that he will work with the brand on fighting social justice issues related to weed legalization.
“Anything I do, I want to do correctly and at the highest level. With all the potential in the cannabis industry, Caliva’s expertise and ethos make them the best partners for this endeavor. We want to create something amazing, have fun in the process, do good and bring people along the way,” Jay-Z said in a statement.
