BREAKING: Ahmed Lawan Emerges As Senate President


Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing Yobe North Constituency on Tuesday emerged as the Senate President.

Lawan defeated his opponent Ali-Ndume by 79 votes to 28 in an election that saw 107 senators vote, making him the Senate President of the 9th National Assembly.

Sani-Omolori administered the Oaths of Allegiance and Office to the senator before he assumed the seat.
