Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Thursday presented a N6 million cheque to the family of Elozino Ogege, a 300 level student of the Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka who was brutally murdered by suspected ‘yahoo’ ritaualists
The 22-year-old Mass Communication student was gruesomely killed by alleged ritualists on November 15, 2018.
Recall that the decomposing body of Ogege was found days after she was adeclared missing with her tongue and br3ast severed from her body.
The police later arrested the native doctor and some persons in connection with the evil act who all confessed to the crime, stating that they collaborated with some security guards in the school and kidnapped Elozino inside the campus.
At the presentation of the cheque to her family, the Delta State Governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Olorogun David Edevbie said:
“What happened to late Miss Elozino Ogege last year is so unfortunate and heartbreaking which tells us that all is not well in our society, this is why we are doing everything possible as a government to improve security in the state and ensure that security challenges are effectively tackled” he added.
He commiserated with the family of the deceased and also assured the family and Deltans of government’s readiness to tackle the security challenges in the state.
