Five members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has lost their lives in a ghastly road crash along Oro-Omu Aran road in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
According to reports, the APC members are said to be on their way to celebrate the victory of their party in a bye-election that took place over the weekend before the tragic incident on Sunday at Oke Onigbin.
It was noted that it all happened after a Morano jeep tried to overtake a heavy truck on a single lane of Oro-Omu Aran road and rammed into the bus conveying the APC members, resulting in a head-on collision.
An official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who confirmed the incident to newsmen said that no death was recorded on the scene of the accident, adding that many of the victims later died from a severe injury sustained.
The state Chairman of the party, Hon Bashir Bolarinwa who expressed shock and sadness over the sad news prayed that God would grant the families of the deceased the strength to bear their losses and also grant repose to the souls of the departed.
